Welcome to “My Vision, My World” an exhibition of artwork by Al-Taqwa College students.
Every generation exists in a different world to the generation that came before it. The students of Al-Taqwa College are diverse in so many ways – in cultures, heritages and lived experiences – but all share certain bonds that can only be formed by being young adults in the 21st century. They see Australia, and their futures, in a way that their parents, teachers and mentors can’t.
The 2018 Al-Taqwa Art Show “My Vision, My World” is an opportunity for our students to bridge these separate worlds, harness the wisdom of our different views, engage our imagination to explore new ways of thinking, and create experiences that can be shared by all people in our community.
The work on display will showcase our students’ diverse range of skills, talents and techniques, as well as their hard work and dedication. We are proud of how our students have matured and developed as individuals as well as designers and artists since last year’s exhibition.
“Every student counts,” is a phrase we regularly use at Al-Taqwa College. We are committed to developing our students academically, artistically and socially so that they become independent, responsible young citizens in a world that requires a unique combination of creativity, conceptual skills and technical abilities.
However, the work on display in “My Vision, My World” has exceeded all expectations. Our students have proven to be extremely creative, motivated and dedicated individuals. We may be educators, but our students have now given us an opportunity to learn from them, and grow through their shared experiences.
Well done to all who have contributed and thank you to all those who have been involved in making “My Vision, My World” such an exciting exhibition.
