What comes after “lights, camera, action”? What about a “Special Mention”? Alhamdulillah Al-Taqwa College received this recognition at the annual ACMI Education Screen It short film and video game competition that is open to school-age entrants and attracted more than 440 entries this year nationwide. The current theme was “curious” and the Grade 6 Media elective students produced a funny video with lots of intrigue, suspense and michief! Even though we did not win the prize in our category, we were very glad to have been chosen as “Special Mention” in our very first year entering this competition! Out of the hundreds of entrants, only one or two received this award in each category. The students who starred in the film enjoyed a day attending the awards ceremony in the city and exploring ACMI. In shaa Allah we will do even better next year!
